Tuesday January 10

The Small Business Resource Association will host a Tuesday Tune-Up workshop, 'The New Year's Resolutions — Those You Didn't Make, But Should Have,' 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., virtually via Zoom.  In this session, John Whitehall will introduce the idea of making resolutions for businesses, and review a 'baker's dozen' of good resolutions to help grow a business in 2023. Tuesday January 10

The Manufacturers Resource Center will host a webinar, 'Strategic Planning: Get A Grip on Your Business,' from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., virtually via Zoom. Denise Haney will deliver a powerful, inspirational presentation that will introduce attendees to the Six Key Components of a successful business. Attendees will leave with a set of simple, practical tools they and their leadership teams will use immediately to focus on priorities, get clear on issues, and gain traction together. The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) will host a networking breakfast with the Berks County Commissioners, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., DoubleTree by Hilton Reading, 701 Penn St., Reading. Attendees will hear an update on the commissioners' goals for 2023, including economic development, Imagine Berks, 2030 planning initiatives, American Rescue Plan funding, the restoration of passenger rail and many other issues in the county. The county's new Chief Operations Officer, Kevin Barnhardt, will share projects he's worked on as a commissioner in 2022 and his vision for the county as he moves into this new leadership role. Thursday January 19

The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce will host a 'REACH Luncheon: Time Management,' from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Copperfield Inn at Lakeside, 594 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick. Led by Audrey Faust, business advisor, CFO and certified NeuroCoach, the luncheon will help attendees learn how to stop feeling 'overworked, overwhelmed and overcommitted.' In this session, presented by Dianne Manges of Truist Foundations, key takeaways will include: An overview of the current economic landscape; the outlook for financial markets; the implications for small business activity. The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce will host a membership breakfast, 'Internships: Are They Right for Your Business,' 8 to 9:30 a.m., Spring Hollow Golf Club, 3350 Schuylkill Road, Spring City. This membership breakfast will feature a panel discussion on internship, and will discuss support, opportunities, requirements and the benefit of working with students in the region. Berks LaunchBox presents a webinar 'Step-by-Step Class to Build a Business Model Canvas,' from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Learn how to craft a business plan in a one-page summary with the Business Model Canvas — which shows the feasibility, desirability, and viability of your business. Attendees will learn how to articulate their value proposition, how they deliver value, and how to measure that value. They will also have the opportunity to practice and get feedback on the draft canvas from one of the coaches during a follow-up private meeting. Registration: URL. This class is free to the public.
