SEOUL--North Korea fired short-range missiles on Sunday as the ruling Kim regime protests ongoing military exercises between the U.S.A. and South Korea.

According to Seoul's military, a short-range ballistic missile fired from the North's Tongchang-ri region at 11:05 AM local time. It traveled approximately 500 miles before reaching the waters between Japan and Korea. According to Japan's Defense Ministry, the missile reached an altitude around 30 miles and landed in areas outside Japan's exclusive economic zones.
