Exercise as an Effective Treatment for Depression

When experiencing depression, exercise may seem unappealing, but a recent study suggests it can be essential for improving mental well-being. Various forms of exercise such as walking, jogging, yoga, tai chi, aerobic exercises, and strength training were found to be as effective as therapy in treating depression. The study analyzed data from over 14,000 individuals across 218 studies. While exercise intensity mattered, even walking had a positive impact. The findings support previous research and emphasize the importance of exercise alongside therapy and medication as part of a comprehensive approach to treating depression.
