Brazilian Olympic pole vaulter set to miss Paris Games due to doping suspension

Brazilian Olympic gold medalist pole vaulter Thiago Braz will not be participating in the upcoming Games in Paris. Braz received a 16-month doping suspension after testing positive for ostarine glucuronide, an anabolic agent prohibited under anti-doping regulations. The suspension will last until November 27, 2024. Braz has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in hopes of still being able to compete at the Olympics. Despite the ban, Braz’s defense remains optimistic about either overturning or reducing the sanction.
